This is a quick post to alert users of the Farsight DNSDB Transforms for Maltego of some upcoming changes. The most visible change in this update is a refresh of all transform UI names, the functional name for use in Machines stays the same. We moved the “[DNSDB]” to the end and adopted the updated Maltego naming best practices. There is a table below with the old and new names for reference.
The other noteworthy change is the move from DNSDB API v1 to V2 in the backend. This update makes it possible to provide more information about problems and failure modes all the way to the Maltego Desktop Client. The update is backwards compatible and will continue to operate even if you don’t update your Maltego client. Users can update simply by refreshing their Transform Hub item after June 8th 2021.
There are some exciting new features coming in this update! We will share further details on the official announcement and release date, June 8th.
